Privacy policy
Last updated: 24 October 2026. DRAFT, to be reviewed before launch.
Level Demon is a game. It has no accounts, no sign-in and no chat. We collect as little as we can, and nothing that tells us who you are.
Who is responsible
Level Demon is developed by IceGaming Team, an independent team, not a registered company. Contact: hello@leveldemon.com.
[Legal name and postal address of the person responsible for the data: to be added by the data protection expert before launch.]
What the game sends to us
- Daily demon results: the daily number, whether you finished it, your death count, your time, the room and position of each death, the platform (Android or web) and the game version.
- A random install identifier: a random code created by the game the first time it starts. It is not linked to your name, your device identifiers or your advertising identifier. It only lets us count one result per install and per daily.
We use this to publish the daily statistics shown in the game and on this site (number of players, median deaths, where people died). Death positions are added together per tile, so they do not describe one player. Results are kept for up to 400 days.
Game analytics
The game sends gameplay events (level started, failed, completed, hint or skip used) to GameAnalytics, with a random user identifier made by the game, the game version, the platform, the operating system version and, on Android, the device model. We use them to find levels that are too hard and bugs.
Crash and error reports
When the web game or the Android app crashes or hits an error, it can send a report to Sentry, a service run by Functional Software, Inc. The report holds the error, the place in the code where it happened, the game version, the platform and the operating system version. It holds no name, no email, no screenshot and no advertising identifier, and we ask Sentry not to store IP addresses.
Reports are stored in Sentry's European Union region (Germany). We send them on the basis of our legitimate interest in fixing bugs. Sentry keeps them for 30 days on our current plan. The game sends them only while the analytics option in the game settings is on.
Advertising (Android)
The Android version shows ads through Google AdMob. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, a consent form from Google appears first and you choose whether ads may be personalised. Google may collect your advertising identifier and other data as described in its policy: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. You can reset or delete your advertising identifier in your Android settings. The web version and streamer mode show no ads.
The Android version offers one purchase, "Remove ads". Google Play handles the payment. The game only learns that the purchase is owned, to stop full-screen ads.
Server logs
Our server (in the European Union) briefly processes IP addresses to deliver the game and to block abuse (rate limiting). Web server logs are kept for at most 14 days.
Cookies and audience measurement on this website
Audience measurement (Matomo)
We count visits to this website with Matomo. Matomo runs on our own server in the European Union. No other company receives this data.
We use it only to measure our audience: which pages are read, how visitors arrive (the referring site, without the full address), and which buttons are used (Play, Google Play, newsletter sign-up). We never record what you type in a form.
Matomo is set up to follow the French data protection authority (CNIL) rules for audience measurement without consent. Your IP address is cut short before it is stored (the last two parts are removed). We see statistics only, never the path of one visitor. Matomo sets one cookie on our domain to tell visits apart. It lasts at most 13 months. Raw visit data is deleted after 25 months.
You can refuse this measurement at any time. Untick the box below. Your choice is kept in a cookie named mtm_consent_removed on this browser.
What stays on your device
Your progress, settings, sound choices and daily results are saved on your device only. Uninstalling the app or clearing the site data deletes them.
Children
Level Demon is made for everyone. The game does not ask for your age and every player gets the same game and the same ads. The game never asks for a name, an email address or any other contact detail. If you think a child has given us personal data, for example by writing to us, tell us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for access, correction or deletion of data about you. Because we do not know who you are, tell us the install identifier shown in the game settings, and we will delete its results. Contact: hello@leveldemon.com. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in France: CNIL).
