Set it up in OBS (web game on a computer)

1. Open the game with streamer mode on. You can also turn it on in the game: Settings, Streamer, Streamer mode.
2. In the game, go to Settings, Streamer, Overlay window and press Open. Or press "Open the counter window" on this page. A small window with the counter opens. If nothing opens, allow pop-ups for leveldemon.com.
3. In OBS, add a source: Window Capture (macOS: macOS Screen Capture, Window mode). Pick the window called "Level Demon death counter".
4. With the green background, add a Chroma Key filter to that source. With the dark card, crop it or keep the card as it is.
5. Play. Every death updates the counter within a frame or two.

Keep the counter window open. It can sit behind other windows. Some systems stop drawing a minimised window, so leave it restored somewhere on a second screen or under the game.

Why not an OBS Browser Source?

The counter listens to the game through the browser itself (a BroadcastChannel and the browser's local storage). That only works between pages of the same browser profile. An OBS Browser Source runs its own built-in browser, so it never hears the game you play in Chrome, Firefox or Edge. That is why the counter is a window you capture. There is no server in between, so nothing about your game leaves your computer.

Streaming from a phone

The Android game cannot reach this page without a server, so the counter lives in the game instead. Turn on Settings, Streamer, Big death counter. It is drawn in the game, big enough to read in a phone recording or a mirrored stream.

Spoiler shield and streamer mode

• Streamer mode turns off ads, gives hints and skips for free and makes leveldemon.com bigger on screen, so viewers can find the game.
• The spoiler shield is on by default in streamer mode. On the daily demon it hides where other players died, so chat discovers every trap with you.
• Music starts off on the web, so your VODs are not muted for copyright.
